My husband and I with our 10 year old daughter visited Holguin for one week in February 2010. This was our first visit to Cuba, we were expecting great beaches, we got them, friendly people, we got that, great food we were not expecting...and we got really good food. Our daughter is exceptionally picky, she was able to find more than enough to eat every day. The animators were fantastic too - the evening shows were fun and entertaining. Let me say something about the beach - WOW. We were able to snorkel right off the resort - we saw all kinds of fish, it was incredible. I even saw flying fish one morning right at the shoreline. I saw a man-o-war jelly, and flying fish. We never waited long for a Hobie Cat ride or kayak. The staff at this resort were not only friendly - but they were pleasant at all times. The bar was well stocked - we didn't experience any issues with weak drinks - they were plentiful and the service was as quick as possible. We also felt very safe at this resort. We went on the catamaran to the dolphinarium - recommended - but know that one can visit the dolphins without signing up for a full day excursion - but you would lose out on the snorkeling on the open reef - Bring your own equipment if you have it. I can't say enough about the excellent service at this resort - really. The room we had was comfortable - we had three double beds - which was perfect for us. And the fridge was stocked every day with several cans of pop, and beer, and a litre or two of water. No complaints from me. We met people from Canada that we are staying in contact with, and all plan to return to this beautiful destination, I hope you do too! |

We arrived in Holguin on January 7th for a 1 week stay at the Blau Costa Verde. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We enjoyed having a safe and mini bar that was included in the price. The food was in our opinion excellent. The fresh grilled fish was amazing. My husband and our friends that we went with were very inpressed with the beef whether it was a burger or a steak the said it was very good. The entertainment was above average. There was an amazing water show and the comedy routines brought us to tears with laughter. There is an excellent entertainment crew. One gentleman in particular that seemed to organize and run events such as timed coctail mixing competition, archery, volley ball and much more was truely a delight to get to know. He was also involved with the nightly entertainment and was in our opinion GREAT!! We were blessed with beautiful weather everyday. It rained one evening for abour an hour. The water was as clear as can be. We snorkeled everyday right off the beach. We also snorkeled off the paddle boats. We enjoyed feeding the fish. We just walked out up to our waists and fed them by hand. I got some amazing pictures of that. The general friendliness was wonderful. Most employees spoke very good english. The shows and daily entertainment were announced in English, French, Spanish and German. Very talented workers to know so many languages. We as a group definately plan to return to this resort. We had a fabulous time. Thank you to all the employees that made our stay so memorable. |

I went to the Blau Costa Verde in June '07, we were supposed to be staying in the Club Amigo Atlantico Hotel--but after a local town trip we were very relieved we had been moved. As soon as we got to the hotel all of the staff were extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough for you.
Our room was very spacious, had air conditioning, safe, mini bar-which was filled up everyday with 2 beers, 2 soft drinks and a bottle of water, and the maid came in to clean everyday and left all the towels in origami styles. We also had a balcony which over looked the very well kept gardens, the huge pool, and most importantly the white sandy beaches and turquoise sea, which was idyllic!
Even though I am a very fussy eater-there were always plenty of food which was delicious, they had a buffet that was on for breakfast,lunch and dinner-which had a huge variety of food, also there was a Italian restuarant which was delicious. Throughtout the day there were snack bars open-both by the pool and the beach.
There were always plenty of things to do-sunbathe been the main activity, also there were peddle boats which you could take out at any time during the day, snorkling equipment, a sauna, gym, table tennis, pool tables, archery, and at around 3.30pm everyday the entertainers would get all the holiday-makers to join in and play games etc... also there were shows on everynight and beach partys-all this included in the price.
There were lots of amazing excursions that you could also go on. We only went on two-first been the Guardalavaca trip, in which you went to variuos parts of the town-which was amazing to see how the cubans lived, also you go to a couple of museums-which i surprisingly found to be extremely interesting-our tour guide was very knowlegable and explained everything we needed to know about cuba, at the end of the trip we went to a market-which was incredible-to see all of the wonderful creations the cubans had made-mainly out of shells and wood-word of warning-take plenty of money.
Our second trip was to swim with the dolphins, which had to be my highlight of the whole holiday-if u pay a little extra they will get the dolphins to lift you up and push you around the sea, they also do a sea lion show which is hilarious and a dolphin show-would highly recommend this trip--its worth every penny.
Also the weather was great-we only had one stormy night-which was good considering it was monsoon season-which did not spoil the holiday at all-it was amazing to watch.
Overall I wuld rate the holiday, hotel, staff everything 5*++++++ thank you to all the staff for the most amazing holiday i ever had, and will see you next year!!!! |

Ma copin et moi sommes de retour de Holguin et du Blau plus précisement. Nous y avons séjourné à 2 reprises en 1 mois, une semaine en juin et 2 semaines en juillet.
Nous nous y sentons comme chez nous ! Nous retournons à la fin d'août. J'ai, pour ma part, voyagé partout dans le monde, mais l'ambiance et l'accueuil que nous avons ressenti au Blau est extraordinaire. Premièrement, de part ses gens, son personnel, Cuba et le Blau sont des endroits à découvrir et à revoir.
L'hôtel est très propre, la bouffe variée et excellente.
L'équipe d'animation et les musiciens: Quinquento Cristal feront tout pour que vous passiez des vacances inoubliables.

Very good relation very good quality price.
Good buffet. Good facilities.
Excellent situation, next to a precious beach. In order to relax because it is remote of any urbanized zone. |
