San Miguel - Hotel Description
A stay at the San Miguel Hotel will probably feel like a privileged sojourn at someone’s private mansion, a treat for those who prefer small, intimate settings.
As in many of the Old Town’s properties now operating as hotels, restoration efforts here have been guided by taste and fidelity to historical fact: most of the San Miguel’s furniture and décor is original, and the discrete, modern-day fittings blend imperceptibly with these. Some furnishings, such as the upholstered arm-chairs and sofa in the seating-area-turned-lobby-bar next to the reception show worn, faded patterns, signs of use which add to the feeling of authenticity and intimacy.
With only 10 rooms, the San Miguel is the kind of cozy establishment where you can reasonably expect to make friends with the staff and be on a first-name basis with them. Despite the aristocratic elegance of the interiors, there’s no stuffy etiquette or protocol here: guests will find hotel spaces welcoming and feel at home as they to take their meals in the sunny 2nd-floor restaurant and hall, the adjacent Sevillana terrace or the roof terrace, which has a killer view of the harbour and the Morro complex lighthouse, across the bay.
Off the Malecón, the San Miguel is also an excellent starting point for any sightseeing venture into Havana’s Old Town and its historic sites.

Varyingly shaped, the San Miguel’s 10 standard rooms have been decorated to preserve the feel of an old mansion. The scarce antique furnishings, tall draped windows and early-century portraits hung on the walls give the accommodations a kind of Victorian austerity that might not suit all tastes, but the overall result is certainly agreeable. The 5 rooms with balconies have of course the best views (the remaining five face and inner patio), and couples should try to secure the 1 room fitted with a matrimonial bed. Travelling families or small groups best opt for rooms 21 and 22, which face each other across a common and private seating area off the main hallway (whose view one can even block by drawing a small curtain across the entrance).
That the San Miguel enjoys an excellent location is clear to anyone standing on its roof terrace, where the view of Havana’s colonial lighthouse is magnificent. The hotel is also conveniently situated at the rim of the Old Town, close to its many places of interest and to more modern Vedado, which is a short taxi-ride (or negotiable walk) away.

Mi estancia en el hotel fue excelente con un staff genial , la habitacion muy linda y con vista a la habia en el ultimo piso , en la mañana podiamos ver el amanecer y en la tarde comiamos la Langosta de chico Boris . volveria sin...

This hotel is excellent and the staff is very professional, the best mojitos in Cuba can be enjoyed on the balcony with Mr. Casanova and the best lobster in Havana is made here by chef Boris, I wouldn't hesitate to come back here...

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff very friendly. Most all spoke englich. The breakfasts was OK but not as good as other Havana hotels. The location I thoughs was good for walking and sightseein...
Once you have paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:
- If you cancel the reservation 48 hours or more before your intended arrival date, we will refund you the total amount that you paid minus an administration fee equivalent to 3% of paid amount, with a minimum of EUR 15.
- If you cancel the reservation less than 48 hours of your expected check-in date, we will refund you the total amount paid minus the amount of the first night of your intended stay.
- If you do not arrive at the hotel on the date of your expected check-in, we will refund you the total amount paid for the reservation minus the amount of the first night of your intended stay for no-show charges. Refunds must be requested in writing within 60 days of the date of your intended stay at the hotel. Once this period has passed, no refunds will be made.
We will not make refunds to credit cards, other than the credit card that was used for your booking. We may process refunds via wire transfer, in which case we will deduct any bank charges from the refundable amount. We aim to process refund within 72 hours after receiving your refund request and required information.
Payment Policy:
Reservations require payment in advance. Your credit card will be debited within 24 hours after making your reservation. Accepted credit cards - VISA, MASTERCARD. Your bill will state: www.ctnres.com. The total charge includes all room charges and taxes, as well as fees for access and booking. Any incidental charges such as parking, phone calls and room service will be handled directly between you and the property.
Hotels will provide accommodation to the person under whose name the reservation was made (“lead passenger”), and to accompanying persons as per the exact amount of adults and children booked into each room. The lead passenger must be present at the time of check-in.
Bed type and smoking preferences are not guaranteed. Your reservation is guaranteed for late arrival. Accommodation is usually available from 16:00hrs on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00hrs on the day of departure. The number of guests in each room is limited to the number of beds provided by the hotel. If the number of persons arriving at the hotel is different to the one selected during the reservation process, or children are not of the age required to classify as such in terms of rates/discounts (see "Children Policy"), additional charges will apply, payable directly to the hotel.
Child Policy:
Infants up to 1 year 11 months: free of charge. Children rates will be confirmed during the online reservation process. Children rates apply for ages 2 - 11 years, and only when sharing room with two adults. Children 2-11 years sharing room with 1 adult must be booked as adults (double/twin room). Children 12 years and older must always be booked as adults.
